Privacy Policy
modLang processes only the minimum information needed to provide translation status information and to confirm mod authors.
- The server is located in South Korea, and the information below is stored on this server.
- Information we store: SteamID64 (for mod author sign-in), the Workshop item IDs owned by that account and the time they were checked, and the author's allow, deny, and takedown records.
- The only information received through Steam sign-in is SteamID64. It is used to confirm that you are the creator of the Workshop items and to maintain the translation permission register.
- Steam data is fetched once, at the moment the author requests sign-in. It is never collected in advance.
- When we receive an inquiry email (such as [email protected]), we keep the original for up to 90 days and then delete it, while processing records such as the sender address, subject, and outcome are kept as evidence of handling the request.
- Email content is classified automatically, and for this only the body, with email addresses, names, phone numbers, and links containing personal paths masked, may be sent to an external AI service.
- Authors who receive notification emails can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email, and the server stores only a hash of the address.
- Collection link checks use the public Steam API to look up only the public information of that collection; nothing is stored.
- Retention period: allow, deny, and takedown records are kept for the duration of service operation as evidence of the author's consent, and Workshop item check records are overwritten at the next sign-in.
- We collect no other personal information (the 'error reports' below are anonymous information that contains no personal data).
- To prevent request floods, the connecting IP is used only as a hash and discarded after 1 hour. The original IP is not stored.
- For inquiries, please use the Contact page.
Error reports (optional, separate consent)
- What: Sending error log analysis results to modLang happens only when you tick the separate consent box on the results screen (or in the companion mod). What is sent is only the packageId list of the mods you have enabled, the game version, the verdict, and for each error cluster (up to 20): a generalized message (numbers, paths, and hexadecimal values masked), candidate cause packageIds, and three method names from the call path. You can see exactly what will be sent on screen before sending.
- What is not sent: the original log, file paths, usernames, IP addresses, Steam IDs, or text you wrote yourself. However, error messages may contain in-game names (such as settler names), so please check them in the preview.
- Why: To reflect compatibility problems experienced by real users in the compatibility ledger. It is shown as a user report only when the same content has been collected from 3 or more separate reports.
- Retention period: Automatically deleted after 180 days.
- Withdrawal: Reports are anonymous, so the server cannot know who sent them, and after sending, a specific report cannot be found and deleted. Please consent with this in mind. You are free not to send future reports at any time, and if you do not consent, nothing is sent.
- For rate limiting, the connecting IP is stored with the report only as a hash that changes daily, and the original IP is not stored.
The Korean version prevails in case of discrepancy.
