For mod authors

modLang is an unofficial fan site that helps Korean players understand RimWorld mods — whether a mod has a Korean translation, whether it works alongside other mods, and why a mod list does not start. We also make Korean translation packs. This page explains exactly what we do with your mod, and how you stay in control.

What modLang does with your mod

We read the translatable text of your mod — the strings in Languages/English/Keyed and the labels and descriptions in Defs — and produce a Korean translation as a separate, language-only pack.

A pack contains translated text files only. No code, no textures, no sounds, and no other assets of yours are copied or redistributed. Your mod's page on modLang names your mod and links to your Steam Workshop page.

We do not copy your Workshop description. The mod page shows your mod's name, its packageId, its public Workshop numbers, a one-line summary written by us, and a link to your page. You can look up any mod in the dictionary, and see how we check mods at how we check.

You stay in control

You decide, and only you decide. The portal offers three buttons for each of your mods: Allow, Deny, and Take down now.

You can change your choice at any time. Changes reach the public site within about 10 minutes. When you take a mod down, its translation material is removed and dropped from the distribution packs. Mods whose author has denied are never distributed.

Our 14-day notice

Nothing is distributed without notice. If you have published a contact (in your Workshop description, your mod's About.xml link, or your own GitHub profile), we send a notice there first; a Korean pack is distributed only after 14 days have passed since that notice, unless you allow it earlier. If we cannot reach you, the translation stays personal and is not distributed until you allow it or a notice has been made. If you deny the mod or ask for a takedown, nothing is distributed, and anything already distributed is removed.

Signing in

Use the sign-in box above. It signs you in through Steam OpenID.

modLang receives only your SteamID64. No password, no email address, no friends list. It is used for two things: to confirm that you are the creator of the Steam Workshop items, and to record your allow, deny, or take-down decision.

Your Steam data — the list of your Workshop items — is fetched once, at the moment you sign in. It is never collected in advance. The consent checkbox links to the Privacy Policy. Our server is in South Korea.

The Korean version of the legal pages prevails in case of discrepancy. See also Terms of Use.

Prefer not to sign in?

You do not need to sign in to ask for a takedown. Write to [email protected] or use the Contact page. The details are at Takedown. We remove the material as soon as we confirm your request.

Questions

Do you copy my code or art?

No. A translation pack contains translated text files only. Your code, textures, sounds, and other assets are not copied or redistributed.

Can I see what you translated?

The translated text lives in the pack, and the mod's dictionary entry shows translation statistics. If you have questions about the translation itself, write to [email protected].

What if I never reply?

If we reached you with a notice, the Korean pack is distributed after 14 days. You can still deny the mod or take it down at any time afterwards; the change reaches the public site within about 10 minutes.

Will my Workshop page be changed?

No. modLang does not edit your Workshop page. Our translation is a separate, text-only pack; our site links to your page.

How do I remove everything?

Sign in above and choose Take down now, or write to [email protected]. The translation material is removed and dropped from the distribution packs (within about 10 minutes of signing in, or as soon as we confirm an emailed request).
